Vern von Velden is a wonderful 2 year old German Shepherd.  We all love that Vern's ears are like directional signals:  go west or go north.  You will never get lost when you are with him.  Vern is housetrained and just goes with the flow of whatever is happening.  Recently he and his walker stood at a corner of the USC campus, where Vern took in all of the traffic and students-in-motion with the composure and confidence of an experienced observer.  If you stop to chat with someone, he lies down and patiently hopes that you will finish by his mealtime.  Vern is affectionately nicknamed "Mr. Sock-It-To-Me" because of his addiction to socks -- so be sure to buy a few dozen before you take this wonderful guy home.
